On July 22, 2024, the Whitegate Development Corporation proudly presented its comprehensive Strategic Plan for the period 2024–2028 to the Federal Cabinet. The document was officially handed over to Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew by Mr. Lincoln Maynard, Chairman of the Board of Directors, accompanied by Mr. Hazel Ellis, CEO of Whitegate Development Corporation, during a break in the day’s regular Cabinet session.

The Strategic Plan outlines a transformative vision for the development and regeneration of the Whitegate area, which encompasses the communities of Newton Ground, St. Paul’s, Dieppe Bay, Parsons, Saddlers, Harris, and Belle Vue. The plan is designed to attract new investments, stimulate economic activity, and enhance the quality of life for residents, while preserving the unique cultural and historical heritage of the region.

Key Objectives of the Strategic Plan:

• Driving Economic Growth: Attracting both local and foreign investments to create jobs and support entrepreneurship.

• Sustainable Development: Implementing environmentally friendly initiatives to ensure long-term growth.

• Cultural Preservation: Leveraging the historical and cultural assets of the Whitegate area to boost tourism and community pride.

• Community Engagement: Actively involving residents in development projects to reflect their needs and aspirations.

The presentation of this Strategic Plan underscores the Corporation’s commitment to fostering innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable progress. It also aligns with the government’s Sustainable Island State Agenda, further emphasizing its importance to national development.
