Brotherson Estate Welcomes Its First Residents: A Historic Milestone for Whitegate Development Corporation

A New Chapter Begins at The Village at Brotherson Estate

The Whitegate Development Corporation (WGDC) is proud to announce a historic milestone in its development journey as Mr. John Gumbs and Mrs. Michelle Gumbs officially become the first residents of The Village at Brotherson Estate.

The journey began on March 2, 2026, when the Whitegate Development Corporation entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement for Lot No. 4, inclusive of the residential unit constructed thereon. The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Corporation by Chairman Mr. Linkon Maynard and witnessed by Mr. Ellis Hazel, Chief Executive Officer.

On May 17, 2026, the Gumbs family officially took up residency, marking the beginning of family life within the community and establishing an important precedent for future homeowners.

Their arrival represents more than the sale of a home—it symbolizes the realization of a vision that has been years in the making.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

To commemorate the occasion, the Whitegate Development Corporation hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and house blessing on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Family members, friends, community representatives, and stakeholders gathered to celebrate this important achievement as the keys were officially handed over to Mr. and Mrs. Gumbs.

The ceremony included a blessing of the home, symbolizing faith, prosperity, and new beginnings as the family embarked on this exciting new chapter.

The occasion was one of pride, gratitude, and optimism—not only for the homeowners but for the future of Brotherson Estate as a thriving residential community.

A Home Close to the Heart

During his remarks, Mr. John Gumbs shared a heartfelt reflection on what homeownership at Brotherson Estate means to him.

He spoke candidly about the emotions that accompanied the decision to move from the community he had long called home.

The thought of leaving his familiar surroundings weighed heavily on him, and he admitted that it often kept him awake at night.

Yet that uncertainty only strengthened his determination.

Driven by a desire to create a secure future for his family, he pursued the opportunity vigorously and remained committed to making homeownership a reality.

Today, that dream has been realized.

His story serves as a reminder that homeownership is about much more than bricks and mortar—it is about security, belonging, achievement, and creating a legacy for future generations.

The Maturity of Whitegate Development Corporation

In his congratulatory remarks, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ellis Hazel reflected on the significance of the moment for both the homeowners and the Corporation.

He described The Village at Brotherson Estate as a defining project in the evolution of the Whitegate Development Corporation.

“The Village at Brotherson Estate represents the maturity of the Whitegate Development Corporation,” he noted.

As the Corporation’s first major residential real estate development, the project demonstrates Whitegate’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for local people and supporting sustainable community development.

Mr. Hazel further emphasized that the development was intentionally designed with local residents in mind, particularly those from rural communities seeking quality housing options within a secure and picturesque environment.

Reflecting on the journey, he fondly recalled how persistent Mr. Gumbs had been in expressing his interest in purchasing a home at Brotherson Estate. That enthusiasm eventually evolved into a formal process that has now culminated in the welcoming of the Estate’s first residents.

A Vision for Community

As pioneer residents, Mr. and Mrs. Gumbs embody the vision that Whitegate Development Corporation has for The Village at Brotherson Estate.

The development was conceived as a community where families, young professionals, and future generations can thrive in a tranquil, secure, and beautifully planned environment.

Their decision to make Brotherson Estate their home signals confidence in the future of the development and highlights the opportunities available to those seeking a high-quality residential experience within the Whitegate Development Area.

The Corporation is confident that the introduction of family life at Brotherson Estate will encourage further investment, attract additional homeowners, and contribute to the continued growth of the surrounding communities.
